About Us

Welcome to Kingfisher Partnership of Church Schools

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I would like to say welcome to our partnership website.

We are extremely proud of our academies and the standards of care and education we provide and hope that you will be pleased with the experiences on offer for your child.

Our partnership is organised as two academies, Gillingham St Michael’s and Ditchingham. Both academies have mixed aged classes catering for pupils from Reception through to Year 6 serving several of our local villages.

Our partnership is part of the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust; we have one Local Governing Body that serves both academies. We work with the trust on their aim to establish an environment in which schools can flourish as successful Academies. DNEAT believe that Academies benefit from working in a supportive network where professional support and challenge is at the heart. The Church of England schools in our Diocese have always had a commitment to working together; operating as institutions living their Christian mission. We have always tried to work effectively with other organisations and with each other, to create the very best for the children and young people in our care. Belonging to the Trust strengthens those opportunities; it provides a supportive and appropriately-challenging environment for school leaders and governors to achieve the very best for their school. The Trust firmly believes in autonomous schools that are properly accountable and focused on providing the richest possible learning environments for their children.

This website contains information to help you to get to know and understand our school and the way we work as well as some information which we are legally required to include. We hope that the information on this site will help you to make an informed decision when choosing the right school for your child, as well as explaining our aims and what we can offer for your child and their education.

We value our home-school links and aim to keep parents informed about what is happening in the school generally as well as their own child’s progress. We believe that by working together we can ensure that your child is happy in school as when children are happy they will make progress. We communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, parents’ evenings, open sessions, home/school books and informal chats. If you should ever have any concerns about your child please arrange to see your child’s teacher.

We will build on the learning experiences that your child has had before coming to one of our academies. Children will be taught at a level appropriate for them and we will keep you informed of your child’s progress throughout their time with us. We treat each child as an individual and will ensure that all of our children have opportunities for success during their time here and aim to ensure that they enjoy coming to school.

Disabled Access

Both academy sites are fully accessible. With allocation to disabled parking bay and ramped access. The sites are single storey and access to all areas is ensured. The academies operate the Norfolk County Council General Emergency Evacuation Plan.
