Curriculum Intent for PSHE
In the Kingfisher partnership, we strive for all children to develop good relationships with all members of our school community and beyond. All of us will have mutual respect and understand that we are all unique with different gifts. Children will be able to problem solve when things go wrong with relationships. They will know how to keep themselves safe, both physically and mentally.
Our PSHE curriculum focuses on a range of areas, such as, learning behaviours, emotions, bullying, healthy relationships, rules and responsibilities, our community, growth mindset, healthy lifestyles and relationships and sex education.
|How does this subject develop spirituality?
Through RSHE at Kingfisher Partnership, we encompass spirituality by developing an awareness of, and responding to others’ needs and wants. We recognise people’s worth and values. We have a strong sense of community which inspires children to grow into confident and resilient individuals.
Assessment in this subject is carried out across the unit of learning. It involves questioning and observations by staff as well as children’s self-assessment. Children are given time and encouragement to celebrate successes, as well as think, respond and consider how they would improve next time.
We consider a final assessment at the end of the unit of learning, against the intended learning outcomes. These are uploaded to our shared file to inform planning by teachers and subject leaders.
